AHEAD - Activity and Healthy Eating in Adolescence.

Following the success of the peer support training ASSIST (A Stop Smoking In Schools Trial), we are contributing to the development of a new programme that focuses on increasing healthy eating and physical activity in adolescence with the Department of Social Medicine at the University of Bristol.

The recent pilot went very smoothly, and an exploratory trial, testing the feasibility of the programme, is now underway.   taste trial.jpg

If you would like to know more about the "science" describing ASSIST, the results were recently published in an independent and authoritative voice in global medicine, The Lancet.

Fire eating is likely to be an element of our 'Acceptable Risk' training in the future.

As with all things circus there is always an element of risk, but with the correct instruction, a clear head and a degree of confidence those risks can be averted and are often outweighed by the benefits of increased confidence, spacial awareness, coordination and the WOW factor!

!!!DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT!!!

Dynamix work with Circus Eruption at Glastonbury festival

Dynamix workers and volunteers from Swansea based charity Circus Eruption took to the fields of Glastonbury festival at the end of June to entertain the punters with parachute games, earth balls, space hoppers and walkabout characters. Over 3 days we played some of our old favourites and devolped a few new games and activities to add to our toolkit!

Spread across the Green Kids area and the Theatre & Circus fileds we had a team of 22 people spreading the word of Play to people of all ages.

We'll be adding pictures to the gallery shortly - watch this space.

Thanks to everyone from Circus Eruption and to all the punters who joined in with us Laughing
