Health Zone, A “Get Healthy” club with the aim of combating the growing problem of obesity in young people.
- Queen Elizabeth High, Carmarthen – Aid 4 Free, The sales of water bottle and containers. The profits made will be donated to Wateraid to tackle the sanitation problems in African countries. Graffiti Art, Sales of mugs and t-shirts with graffiti art designs on them with an aim to combat vandalism and provide something to do for young people in a rural area. Disco group, Organising a series of discos with the social aim of providing activities for young people who live in a rural area.
- Dylan Thomas Comunity School, Swansea. Club Y7, The enterprise was to run a series of non-uniform days and with the profits the young people would set up a lunch time club for 1 day a week for year 7 students with the social aim of tackling bullying in yr7. The Blind Football Co-operative, The aim of this co-operative was to run a football league in which all players would be blindfolded with the aim of promoting disability awareness and inclusion for all students.
- Glan Afan Comprehensive, Neath. G.A.F. strap line: – from rags to pitches. Management team formed – aim to use the finances to raise money for sports equipment so that the young people had more to do in their breaktimes.There were three branches of their business: Non-uniform days and cake sales, Concert organisers, Challenge events organisers.
- Pembroke School. FUNCO events. The company will organise a series of events (from Ready, Steady, Cook to Water fights) and will use their profits to tackle bullying. They aim to renovate the school website to include information and advice about bullying. CRLS. A makeover and cosmetic sales business whose social aim is to promote cosmetics that are not tested on animals. RJKR stationary. The business aim to sell stationary that raises awareness about bullying and the profits made will be invested in the anti-bullying crew. RNTS sports. This is a sports equipment rental company that will use their profits to tackle issues of theft and vandalism.
- Morriston School, Swansea. Spotlight Studios. Aimed to generate income through writing, producing and undertaking drama productions and through the sales of refreshments during school breaks and during performances. The profits generated were to be used to convert and improve the facilities for drama within the school. Stop Bullying Business. Aimed to generate income through the sale of wristbands and through co-ordinating a school disco. The profits generated were to be used to provide an activities room for year 7 and 8 where they could host a student mentoring scheme.
